Maryse Condé’s novel, Moi, Tituba, sorcière…Noire de Salem, is one of the francophones texts that evoke a reflection on identity and the self-definition in a universe situated between two worlds et two spaces, the physical country and the dream country, whose starting point is based on the presence of the locus amoenus. Our analysis focuses on the creation and exploration of the identity-mosaic-freedom from the new theoretical approaches that respond, nowadays, to the question of the Anthropocene, such as postcriticism. Condé’s work offers the reader the possibility of a different hermeneutic reading of the nature’s presence as a vector of the desire to take Care of all its living beings. It is thus a question of analysing in this novel the Tituba’s journey undertakes in the in-between space, in order to open the way towards a new vision to rereads and questions the effects of the modern Anthropocene.
