La figure du masque-autochtonisé chez Attita Hino : Littérarisation d’une forme d’expression culturelle en contexte romanesque

Abstract

The perspective of this article is part of a literary apprehension of an element of culture precisely of the mask as a cultural phenomenon which is fundamentally linked to an autochthonous situation. This is the figure of the Great Mask, a symbol of Ivorian autochthony. Because the mask represents one of the anthropological entities at the heart of the interactions between the social being and its needs, the novel The Great Mask lied by Attita Hino offers a fictional visualization of this cultural object. The object-mask is recovered and then invented.

In other words, the image of the mask is captured under the technical game of cultural recovery and literary invention. This is how these processes account for the mobility and transferability of the figure of the mask starting from its trajectory from cultural object to literary object. Translating therefore, following the example of the romantic representation of the object-mask, the surroundings of an initiative for the literarization of the cultural, this is the scope of this contribution
